Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Mise desktop application and the account, licence and billing services behind it (together, the "Service"), operated by Home 7 Inc. ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them.
1. The Service
Mise is desktop software for running a restaurant or small business: employees, attendance, payroll, inventory, point-of-sale, tax filing and related modules. It runs on your own computer, and your business data is stored in a database on your own computer. Our servers handle sign-in, your subscription status, and issuing the licence that tells the app which modules you may use. Our servers do not receive, store or process your business data.
2. Your account
- You need a valid email address. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- One account belongs to one business. Do not share an account between businesses or resell access.
- An account can have up to two active installations at a time (for example a main computer and a replacement while you move). You can remove an installation in the app, or ask us to.
3. Trial, subscriptions and billing
- New accounts get a 14-day free trial of the self-service modules. No card is needed to start.
- Modules are sold as monthly subscriptions billed in advance, in Canadian dollars, through Stripe. You choose which modules to subscribe to. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- Applicable Canadian sales taxes (GST, HST, PST, QST) are calculated at checkout from your billing address and shown separately.
- You can cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep your modules until then.
- If a renewal payment fails we retry it and give you a grace period of about 7 days to fix your payment method. After that, the paid modules pause until payment succeeds.
- Prices may change. We will notify you by email at least 30 days before a price change affects you.
- Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.
4. What happens when a subscription ends
When your trial or subscription ends, the paid modules stop working. The basic features of the app (such as employee records and settings) remain available, and all of your data stays on your computer and is not deleted. Subscribing again restores the modules straight away.
5. Licence and offline use
The app checks your licence with our server. You can keep working without an internet connection, but the app must reach our server at least once every 14 days to renew the licence; otherwise the paid modules pause until it reconnects. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the software for your own business while your subscription is valid.
6. Your data and backups
- Because your data is stored only on your computer, you are responsible for backing it up. We cannot access, recover or restore it.
- Loss of your computer, disk failure, or deleting the app's data folder can permanently destroy your data if you have no backup.
- Keep your computer and the app's data folder secure. You are responsible for who can use them.
7. Payroll, tax and compliance features
Mise includes tools that help prepare payroll, remittances, tax slips and returns. They are aids, not professional advice. Tax and payroll rules change and depend on your circumstances; you remain responsible for the accuracy and timely filing of everything you submit, and should confirm figures with a qualified accountant where needed. Nothing in the Service is tax, legal or accounting advice.
8. Acceptable use
You may not: bypass, tamper with or share the licence; reverse-engineer or modify the account service; use the Service to break the law; or disrupt the Service for others.
9. Changes, availability and termination
We may update the software and these terms; we will give reasonable notice of material changes. We aim to keep the account service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us.
10. Disclaimer and limits on liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including lost profits, lost data, penalties or interest from late or incorrect filings), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Questions: support@onepbdc.com.
